NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES AND THEIR CATCHMENT AREAS.

One of the difficulties student face when choosing their choice of institution is the problem of catchment area. For those who don't know what a catchment is; it is simply an area of a city, town, etc., from which a school's students are mostly drawn. It is very vital in the admission process of any institution and can increase an applicant's chance of being admitted. As such, I have compiled a list of all the federal universities in Nigeria and their catchment areas below.

4. Unilorin: Benue, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Nassarawa, Plateau, Sokoto, Zamfara
5. ABU: Adamawa, bauchi, Benue, borno, gombe, jigawa, Kaduna, kano, katsina, kebbi, kogi, kwara, nasarawa,Niger, plateau, sokoto, taraba, yobe and zamfara
6. UNIJOS: Benue, kebbi, kogi, kwara, nassarawa, plateau, Niger
7. UNILORIN: Benue, kebbi, kogi, kwara, nasarawa, plateau, sokoto, zamfara
8. UNIUYO: akwa ibom, bayelsa, cross river, delta, Edo , rivers
9. UNIZIK: Anambra, ebonyi, IMO, abia , Enugu
10. UNICAL: Akwa ibom, bayelsa, Edo, delta, rivers, cross river
11. FUTO: Abia, anambra, ebonyi, IMO, Enugu
12. FUTA: Ekiti, Lagos, Osun, Oyo, On do, Ogun
13. ATBU, BAUCHI: Adamawa, bauchi, Benue, borno, gombe, taraba, yobe
14. BAYERO, KANO: Jigawa, Kaduna, kano, katsina, kebbi, sokoto, zamfara
15. FUTMINNA: Benue, kebbi, kogi, kwara, nasarawa , Niger, plateau, sokoto, zamfara
16. MAUTY: Adamawa, bauchi, borno, gombe, taraba, yobe.

N.B: the other federal universities not listed above have ALL STATES OF THE FEDERATION as their catchment areas e.g UNIBADAN, UNIPORT etc.
